Web
design is the skill of creating presentations of content (usually hypertext
or hypermedia) that is delivered to an end-user through the World Wide
Web, using a Web browser or other Web-enabled software . The intent
of web design is to create a website—a collection of electronic
documents and applications that reside on a Web server/servers.
In
general, this amounts to a corporate title, logo (logotype and/or logogram),
and supporting devices commonly assembled within a set of guidelines.
These guidelines govern how the identity is applied and confirm approved
colour palettes, typefaces, page layouts and other such methods of maintaining
visual continuity and brand recognition across all physical manifestations
of the brand.
A
web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows
individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via
the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a
server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing
Internet connectivity, typically in a data center.
